Why Anne Main is Wrong

I feel there are few people better placed to comment on the behaviour and attitude of dog owners in regards to dog fouling. For the last 8 years I have travelled the UK and spoken to hundreds of thousands of dog owners about the problem of dog fouling, including the dumped poo bag problem the lack of bins and where they believe it is acceptable to not pick up. The biggest problem is not the lack...

It’s gonna take more than just another pick up campaign!

Please don’t misunderstand my views written here, I commend everyone involved in trying to encourage more dog owners to act responsibly, but yet another poop scoop campaign, this one entitled THE BIG SCOOP which launches on 14th June 2013, involving Keep Britain Tidy, Ben Fogle, Kirsty Allsop and the Dogs Trust, will bring exactly the same results it always has and NO PERMANENT POSITIVE EFFECT...

The CURE for Dog Fouling

This is my response to all of the media coverage given to the increase in bagged dog waste found on beaches. We need to talk about the CURE and stop just moaning about the PROBLEM! I have I have known about the dangers of leaving dog waste for years but everyone poo-pooed me (excuse the pun!) plus I was becoming more aware of the added problem of poo bag dumping so I invented the Dicky Bag. It is...

Beware 4 legged larger louts!

Brewers in Holland have launched a Dog Beer. It is alcohol free and made from a special blend of beef extracts and malt, to keep a beer taste and add meaty goodness.  The makers market it as ‘a beer for your best friend’.  A spokesman said “for large dogs we recommend one bottle a day smaller dogs like chihuahuas, well they prefer shorts’. It is being trialed in the Derby...

Dog Fouling Academy

What! It’s a special one day seminar run by Keep Britain Tidy for over 140 councils to make them aware of the problems of dog fouling (like they don’t already know) and to offer ideas and solutions to the problem.  We have been invited along to introduce them to the Dicky Bag which has been identified as a solution to all their problems.  As the new government takes power I think we...

dogs banned from 72 nottinghamshire parks

Nottinghamshire council have put dog bans in place in 72 of their parks due to an increase in the number of cases of dog fouling.  Irresponsible dog owners are to blame for the out right ban which means every dog and their owners will suffer.  People will have to drive to alternative locations to allow their dogs to exercise properly is this what we want to encourage at a time of concern over global...

Pink Poo!

Just seen a great article on CBBC’s newsround in relation to a council’s struggle to highlight the problem of Dog Fouling. Staffordshire council have decided to spray the normal brown deposits fluorescent pink to show how much of a problem it is.  It’s a nice start but why not go a step further, like Conwy council in Wales, and provide a solution.  Conwy have invested in 500 Dicky...

Local council take positive action in solving Dog Fouling problem

Conwy council in North Wales have taken the postive step of ordering 500 Dicky Bags to give to their residents in a bid to reduce the problem of dog fouling on their streets and in their parks.  In the darker winter months they see a sharp increase in the number of complaints regarding dog mess being left by irresponsible dog owners who believe that if their dog hasn’t been seen fouling then...

Dicky Bag Helps Keep Britain Tidy

The Dicky Bag has found another fan base in the form of Keep Britain Tidy campaign.  This is fantastic news because the Dicky bag was not only invented to help dog owners by providing a civilised way of carrying dog poo, it also intends to create more responsible dog owners.  By offering more solutions to the problem of dog fouling it will become less acceptable to not pick up after your dog or...
