Have you ever tried Geocaching?

Isn’t it funny what you can find on the world wide web!

Yesterday as we were happily surfing the internet looking for a bone shapped karabiner (whole other story) when we came across Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing).  Has any one out that tried it?  It looks like great fun and i’m certainly interested in giving it a go.  The site we found was called UK Geocachers where you can get the full history of the fun activity and buy all your geocaching needs.  I for one can’t wait to give it a go and my kids will love the whole hidden treasure aspect as they are big fans of all things pirate related and treasure maps.  What’s more, it’s a dog friendly activity so both Rosie and Barney Fang can join us, that’s what I call a family day out!  Obviously the Dicky Bag, the portable dog waste carrier, will be ever present because there will no doubt be a shortage of bins on route and I don’t fancy carrying smelly bags of dog poo for hours and it always ends up being my job!

I love to hear from any one who has tried it to give us some tips or advice.

We had a go at orienteering about 6 months ago which was great fun but we felt it was a little too competitive, we just want to encourage the kids to walk furthter.
