Standard bag has a nylon outer layer on the neoprene. If this bag gets wet on the outside the nylon layer will get slightly damp and dirt can’t be wiped off.
Premium bag has a silky smooth outer layer which repels water and can be wiped clean.
Both finishes can be washed in a machine on a cool wash.
Yes it does!
The way the Dicky Bag is designed is to create an odour proof seal using the airtight qualities of rubber. All the seams of the Dicky Bag are glued and blind stitched, which to your means that the rubber to rubber seals exist and the material is only perforated on one side when it is stitched so no smells escape.
For most customers the biggest problem comes in remembering to empty your bag, because it works so well that they forget it’s full!
The rubber seals mean that there are no smells from the bag when it is full, however it will smell inside the bag. When you have discarded your poop bags responsibly you will re-seal an airtight bag. The scented disc makes sure it won’t smell nasty the next time you open it.
Our scented discs are like most other cardboard air fresheners and the length of their effectiveness will depend somewhat on how keen your sense of smell is along with how stinky your bags are!
As a general rule we think they last at least 3 months. If you leave the bag open outside, to air for a while after using it, the disc will last considerably longer.
Either hand wash or cool wash in your machine and dry naturally. It MUST NOT be tumble dryed!
I used nappy sacks when with my prototype bag and this is the reason the bag store is a soft pocket. This gives you the flexibility to choose which type of pick up bag you prefer. Flat packed bags or carrier bags can be pushed into the top of the bag or if you prefer rolls there is always room for 2, unlike bag dispensers, because everyone hates the feeling when a roll comes to an end, this way you will always have spares.
In order for this great invention to actually work effectively we have to use genuine, highest grade neoprene, the sort top wetsuits are made from, not the cheap versions sold in supermarkets! High grade neoprene has a high rubber content which means our airtight seals work better, and because we use high quality materials your Dicky Bag will last longer. Have you ever heard the saying “You get what you pay for”. Currently our prototype bag is still working well 5 years on.
It’s worth remembering that most of our customers have all thought the same but when they use the Dicky Bag all they have to say is “It’s worth every penny!”
An interesting calculation to make is cost per use. If you walk your dog twice a day, every day, and your Dicky Bag, like mine, lasts you for 5 years, a medium standard Dicky Bag actually costs 0.6p per use . Even if you’re fashion conscious and insist on buying a new bag every year, it still only works out at 3p per use (much cheaper than double bagging)
Another thing we insist on and are very proud of is the fact that Dicky Bag, like all Duck Soup products, are made exclusively in the UK. Our first production run had to be made in China but after that we managed to relocate all production back to the UK; Lostwithiel in Cornwall to be exact (well worth a visit if you’re in the vicinity) This way we are paying British wages, employing trained staff who lost their jobs when wetsuit manufacture moved to the Far East. Personally, I would rather pay a £ or 2 extra to boost UK industry.
Another bonus of making your products in the UK is that the cheaper components can be fixed. We can either send you a clip and you can fix it yourself or you can send your bag to us and we will fix it for you.
Yes. Depending on how it has broken. Some the repairs take longer than others.
Every bag will need freshening up from time to time; here is the check list to make your bag fragrant again.
Wash your bag
Spray with fabric freshener (i.e. Febreeze)
Insert new disc
Spray the inside of the bag liberally with 'Oxi-Action' pre-wash Laundry Stain Remover leave for 30 minutes. Rinse out the bag in cold water. Again spray the inside of the bag liberally with 'Oxi-Action' pre-wash Laundry Stain Remover. Place in washing machine with the correct quantity of detergent recommended for ‘Heavy Soiling’ following the instructions on the detergent packaging on a warm wash. Sprinkle the inside of the bag with plenty of baking soda hang outside to dry, usually overnight. When the baking soda is dry vacuum it up. Spray the inside with odor eliminator product such as Febreze. Insert a new Dicky Bag fragrance disk.
Your Dicky Bag will smell sweet and fresh with no hint of dog poop odor.
Yes, just so long as you haven’t used it and it is still in its original condition.
Email over a high resolution image (bold and simple works best). We will get some artwork over for you to approve and then sublimate the image on to the neoprene. We suggest the lid is the best place for logo and work best on plain white or black neoprene. You can choose any standard pattern we currently stock for the main body of the bag and the cost for adding a logo is just £1.50 per bag. If you order 10 bags or more you qualify for trade discount.

The Dicky Bag will comfortably hold pick up bags of any size and shape. We found the pick up bags on rolls are only manufactured in China. We decided to discontinue stocking pick up bags on rolls in favour of our new UK manufactured biodegradable flat pack bags, reducing our carbon footprint, and contributing to the British economy! And since we're making them ourselves we've cut down on the packaging too.
