Dog Behaviour

What one dog owner sees as a 'problem behaviour' may not be the same as the next; this is fine. Everyone has different expectations and perceptions. As long as your dog's behaviour is not dangerous or too offensive, it is up to you what doggy behaviours you encourage or deter.

You must learn to accept responsibility for your dog's behaviour. Remember that behaviours that are reinforced (rewarded / treated) are more likely to be repeated by your pooch. At some point and probably quite inadvertently, the behaviours that you like least in your dog would have been encouraged by you! Below are a few common problems, have a read and hopefully this will help you out...

Eating Poop

Naughty dog!

For some animals, such as rodents, poo-eating is quite normal as it's full of bacteria that aid digestion. However in dogs, not only is it classed as ‘abnormal' behaviour but it's highly unpleasant to watch and can be the cause of some very bad breath!

Aggressive Behaviour

Aggressive dog behaviour

Aggressive dogs are difficult to address in a generalised sense, as often the cause of aggressive behaviour is specific to the individual dog.

Barking Behaviour

dog-barking-behaviour

Dogs bark. It is a natural behaviour for them but it can get out of hand and then it becomes a nuisance.

Destructive Behaviour

Dog destructive behaviour

Let's face it, we all get a bit aggressive sometimes and it can be even worse if we can't get it off our chest. Destructive behaviour in dogs is often re-directed aggression caused by something the dog is unable to cope with. The problem is, when we get home to find your dog chewing on furniture, ripped sofas or mauled carpets, the dog does not associate our angry scolding for something it did earlier. It just experiences a grumpy owner whose company will become less and less desirable; your dog will start to dislike you.

Testimonials

Just had to send you an e mail singing the praises of the Dicky Bag!

It arrived in super quick time - enabling us to take it away with us on a weeks holiday in North Wales.

A suitably macho camoflage design - my husband happily attached it to his trouser belt when we were out on walks with Ruby - our 5 month old chocolate Lab.

It was fantastic! Poos were nicely contained and odour free. So much better than being encumbered with a poopy bag!

What a fantastic little gadget.

Many thanks,

Julie Tompkins
