Harvey Nichols "The Must Have Accessory this Christmas is Canine"

Tempers are soaring after the Christmas advert from Harvey Nichols (which depicts dogs as fashion accessories) was first aired!!

This is a blog post about it from the Editor of Dogs Today  in which she shares the offending advert along with her views and also those of Clarissa Baldwin OBE, the Chief Executive of Dogs Trust and the inventor of the phrase "A dog is for life not just Christmas":

It makes an interesting read and I'd love to know your views on this rather delicate subject!  Personally I would have expected an organisation with such a reputation to know that the must have accessory this Christmas is a Dickybag!

Who let the dogs out?

I'm told I have several rather unusual habits... wearing a crown for example and speaking in the rather regal tone of bark in which I do... oh and picking up after myself in order to use my beloved Dickybag.

However I could hardly believe my eyes when a Dickybag customer sent in this video of Canine Conundrums!  What on earth are these fellows thinking?

Does your dog have any hilarious habits?  If so, please share them with me.  I am always delighted to hear from you!

E=MC.... Squirrel?

“Clever boy!” is actually my middle name, my human says it all the time so it must be true. I am much brighter than a cat (obviously) although our neighbours seem to love theirs despite their lower intelligence and loyalty scores!  Cats... yuck... they make you shudder just thinking about them don't they?  They are all so lazy...and just entirely unpleasant to look at.

Anyway, back to the question at hand.  So just how intelligent are we really, us dogs? My human tells me that research would now seem to suggest that we evolved alongside humans and are able to read your emotional state from your facial expressions, so watch out! Today we understand your emotions- tomorrow we will rule the world!! Mwhahahahahaha.......

However, if natural selection were more evident in this day and age, my friend Grover would have bought the farm ages ago!

Crappy Holidays!

A Christmas message from all at DickyBag, all the very best from us!

New size Dicky Bags

We are pleased to announce the safe arrival of our new babies!

You can now get the XS and Small Dicky Bags from our online shop.  Some lucky people who met us at Discover Dogs and the Christmas Gift Fair at the NEC in November got first dibs on our new sizes, the only problem being they were so popular we immediately ran out and the arrival of our new stock has been somewhat delayed by the weather;  first our factory was evacuated due to the Lostwithiel floods and then the snow and ice made the roads impassable so the staff couldn't get to work.

We were so keen to get them on the site that these Dicky Bags don't have packaging yet, that will be arriving in the new year.  The design teams are working on it as we speak.

The XS is slightly bigger than our old petite size, and the Small is the same diameter as the XS and the height of the medium.  So as a rough guide the XS is suitable for Jack Russell/ King Charles Spaniel size and the Small is sutiable for Staffies/Springer Spaniel size.   As we are now making our bags in Cornwall we have also been able to offer a  wider selection of colours and styles.

Testimonials

Just come back from a somewhat windy and sometimes wet holiday in Devon. I asked for the dicky bag to be delivered to the rental property we were staying in. They were there ready and waiting (I purchased two, one for a friend).

We used them the whole time, they were fabulously useful particularly when taking a long beach walk. Several other dog owners asked where we had got them and so a positive response and all info was given!

Well done to all at DB, great, great product. On top of which, it is so light when clipped to your belt loop you don't even know you are carrying anything - let alone poo!
