Winning the X Factor isn't everything... Matt Cardle misses his dog!

Well, it's Christmas Eve and it's all very exciting isn't it?  Christmas is the perfect time for taking stock of the great things you have in your life and so it was nice to read that despite having one of the most incredible ends to the year possible and winning the X Factor, what Matt Cardle would really like is the opportunity to chill out with his dog and his family or go for a walk without being recognised!

So... this Christmas don't forget to take a look around you and realise just how lucky you are.  Your faithful friend thinks the world of you and is looking forward to more adventures with you in 2011!

And... if you got him / her a Dickybag for Christmas you can both look forward to far more pleasurable walks than you have ever experienced before too!

Merry Christmas folks!

Dogs that look like their owners a LOT!

Now it's a well known fact that dogs tend to look like their owners... or the other way around - but when I came across this video I just couldn't believe my eyes!

It got me thinking - is the saying "opposites attract" even remotely true?  If dogs choose people that look so obviously just like them surely this age old saying needs re-writing?

It also made me think of how important it is for doggy folks to choose the correct Dickybag - one that compliments their image as well as their person does...

My friend Hendrix the Chihuahua - owned by the equally demure and beautiful Paris Hilton suits the tiny golden Dickybag perfectly for example.  Which Dickybag is right for you and your person doggy pals?  Are you a pink flower type or a camo type?  Choose carefully!

Hmmm... check back soon for more ponderings from Dicky Dog!

Merry Christmas Mr President!

I was absolutely gob smacked today when I read about the incredible creativity of the White House florist, Laura Dowling who fashioned an amazing likeness of my dear friend Bo Obama out of... wait for it... PIPE CLEANERS!  40,000 pipe cleaners in fact... which took 500 hours of constant twisting to produce a "faux Bo" worthy of greeting the first families guests for the festive season!

It's a shame she didn't include a Dickybag in the masterpiece for Bo though!

Well done Laura!  I wonder what she'd use to recreate me?  Some sort of sweet smelling flower I'm sure...

Does your dog need to chill out?

For all those nay sayers out there that think that dogs are not the most fun loving and easy going fellows... watch this video!

This chap frankly puts some of his human friends to shame here... but look at how completely relaxed he is.  In his element isn't he!  So if your dog is in need of a little R&R - perhaps get him a skateboard with his Dickybag this Christmas?

I'm off to get my knee pads on to see if I can replicate what he's achieved here.  Just fantastic!

Christmas can be dangerous for Dogs!

Ah... here we are - Christmas week!  Everywhere I look you humans seem to be scurrying to and fro making the final preparations for the festivities to come this weekend - holly hangs everywhere, the houses are all looking very jolly with their inflatable Santas and brightly lit ornaments and you all look very excited.  Very sweet.

However, at the risk of sounding like a complete party pooper (do you see what I did there? Dickybags... poop... oh forget it!) I would like to draw your attention to this article on the Dog News blog.

You see - Christmas can be a rather hazardous time for dogs.  Not only are we force fed all manner of left overs from Christmas dinner but some of you even give us chocolate (not good for us at all!) and those Christmas crackers!  Well... let's just say there was a rather unfortunate incident last year where I was so startled by a cracker banging that I fell off the sofa in the middle of the Queen's speech!

But that's not all!  According to the article, the following are the Top 5 Christmas Hazards for Dogs!  Please familiarise yourself with them and ensure that they don't cause any problems in your home this Christmas...

1) Chocolate
2) Antifreeze on the ground
3) Pine needles
4) Glass decorations
5) Crowded kitchens

Do read the article, it's really very good and you may just save your dog a few mishaps!

I enjoy hill walking with my husband and our dog, and I read a couple of walking/country magazines which regularly review new products just like yours that are ideal for people with outdoor, active lifestyles (and LOTS of walkers have dogs). Have you advertised in some of these mags? I know that if you send freebies to the editor for reviewing you can sometimes get your product into the mag for free. I read Country Walking, TGO, Cumbria and BBC Countryfile, if that's any help. You've probably done all this already, but best of luck as you really deserve to make a success of it, it's such a brilliant product.

I really, really love my 'Dickie Bag'. My husband and I have spent hours trying to come up with something just like it ourselves, as we didn't know it already existed! We go for weekly long walks in the country with our dog and really hate carrying around a smelly, poopy bag for hours on end for a lack of bins. The same goes for hill walking; it's easy to spend all day walking with a poopy bag dangling from a rucksack, but no more! It's such a fab invention, it should be on a lot more shelves.
