The CURE for Dog Fouling

This is my response to all of the media coverage given to the increase in bagged dog waste found on beaches. We need to talk about the CURE and stop just moaning about the PROBLEM!

I have I have known about the dangers of leaving dog waste for years but everyone poo-pooed me (excuse the pun!) plus I was becoming more aware of the added problem of poo bag dumping so I invented the Dicky Bag. It is a fashionable solution to dog fouling; no fines, no bans just trying to engage with dog owners on a more adult level by creating a product which solves the issue of swinging smelly bags of dog waste on what would otherwise be a lovely walk. I am trying to change the general attitude to clearing up dog mess. How many more years will we persist in the futile talk about getting tough with bans and fines? We would need round the clock surveillance in every corner fo the country to catch these people. It’s time to try a new approach? Make being a responsible dog owner fashionable, help me change the way we think and we might just make a difference and see the problem decrease - it's got to be worth a try surely!

Crufts 2012

If there is one thing guaranteed to help you get through the often miserable months of January and February it's the knowledge that Crufts is just around the corner.  2012 is going to be a very busy year for the UK what with Diamond Jubilees and the Olympic Games and so I've got a feeling that Cruft 2012 is going to be the best yet.  All the best of the Canine world will be gathering at the NEC in Birmingham between the 8th and 11th March so if you like dogs don't miss out.  You can book your tickets in advance via the crufts website to save yourself £2 (but i do think the booking fee is a bit of a cheeky added extra!)

You will be able to meet us at Crufts and get to see and feel our Dicky Bags so you can see for yourself how fantastic they are.  We love to meet our Dicky Disciples so don't be shy.  We will be in Hall 1 Stand 125 with our friends from Xtra Dog.

Which came first?

Hi there people.

I was having a chat with a friend of mine the other day who couldn't wait to tell me about the imminent arrival of her first puppy and it got me thinking about our philosphy on pet ownership versus having children.

Having spoken to many dog owners over the year and there seems to be a common pattern which takes one of two paths.

Path 1.  Having lived together for a while a couple will decide to buy a dog and if the dog survives for a year or 2 they will feel ready to plump for children.

Path 2.  Having got a kid or 2 the couple are now aware of the financial drain children can be and decide to get a dog as an alternative to more children (cheaper to keep, can be left home alone with no legal reprecussions and put in kennels when necessary).

This got me wondering on the real facts and figures so i would love you to tell me your story - can you relate to the above? - what came first for you? the dog or the kid?

Beign a mother of 4 and an owner of 2 dogs i feel i can be honest and frank about this subject.  We got the dog first!

Top Rated Product!

I recently purchased a dicky bag (dog poo bag!) online as it seemed the answer to all of my poop scooping problems (no bins on walks, clutching a tesco carrier bag blatantly full of crap - you know how it is! )

Excellent product

We love these messages - even the professionals are using our dog walking bags! Smile

"To the Dicky bag team.  I am a professional dog walker and  have bought products before which you use to carry your dogs No2's in and have given up with them with in a couple of days as they have always been so impractical to use.  I must say I have been using my Dicky bag for 3 weeks now and love it!

I like the idea of carrying spare bags in the top although I take them off the roll before hand and push them in to the slot.  The bag is discreet and so much better than when I had pooh bags swinging from my hip! Read more
It's hard to stop people borrowing it! I won a Dicky bag at alocal dog show, having never heard of the company before I didn't know just how great this product was. We take our bag to every show, walk and journey and it really is brilliant. You wouldn't know what it contained and I honestly couldn't live without our now! My mum and sister are having one each for christmas they are amazed. I keep having to ask for my bag back from my sister who tries stealing it on a regular basis!
Thanks to all at Dicky Bags for making our life easier, less embarrasing and more convient. Dicky bags make being a responsible dog owner stylish and cool!
