What a Darling!

Ever consider feeding your beloved pet raw dog food?

There has been much debate recently regarding your pets food intake and Darling's Raw Dog Food have studied the benefits of feeding raw food to your dog.

Jonathan Self, one of the founders of Darling's says " Dogs and their wolf ancestors have been eating raw food for over a million years. It is what their teeth and digestive systems are designed for and, as you can imagine, they thrive on it.

Benefits include a glossy coat, healthy skin, lean muscle tone, robust immune system, sweet smelling breath, healthy teeth and gums, increased energy, better digestion, strong heart and more energy and vitality.

Have you ever tried Geocaching?

Isn't it funny what you can find on the world wide web!

Yesterday as we were happily surfing the internet looking for a bone shapped karabiner (whole other story) when we came across Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing).  Has any one out that tried it?  It looks like great fun and i'm certainly interested in giving it a go.  The site we found was called UK Geocachers where you can get the full history of the fun activity and buy all your geocaching needs.  I for one can't wait to give it a go and my kids will love the whole hidden treasure aspect as they are big fans of all things pirate related and treasure maps.  What's more, it's a dog friendly activity so both Rosie and Barney Fang can join us, that's what I call a family day out!  Obviously the Dicky Bag, the portable dog waste carrier, will be ever present because there will no doubt be a shortage of bins on route and I don't fancy carrying smelly bags of dog poo for hours and it always ends up being my job!

I love to hear from any one who has tried it to give us some tips or advice.

We had a go at orienteering about 6 months ago which was great fun but we felt it was a little too competitive, we just want to encourage the kids to walk furthter.

Another great use for the Dicky Bag

I'd like to say thank you to Nikki Chasty who has disocovered another great use for the petite Dicky Bag.  She decided that she would use it as a clean poo bag store and treat holder.  The petite dicky bag is the ideal size to clip to your dogs lead/leash and they are so lightweight (just over 3 oz) you don't notice them.  If you employ clicker training you could even use the lid to store your clicker.

Thanks for the suggestion Nikki.  She hopes you'll all rush to buy one now 'cos she might be in line for some commission Money mouth

We'd love to hear with any one else who has found alternative uses (as long as we can print them!!)Laughing

independent review

Just thought I would share this with the world.  A fantastic article which was written about our Dicky Bag from an independent test.  What is particularly pleasing is that they totally understand the design of the product and it's purpose.

Dog owners everywhere know what it's like to walk around the block with their dog's leash in one hand and a bag of their best friends 15 minute old poop in the other. After about 10 minutes you start wondering why nobody has a trash can although you have been down this same street earlier and your dog almost knocked you over trying to pee on one around here. As you walk past the neighbor that you swear is stealing your newspaper you think about how funny it would be to leave it on his porch. You realize you have been through this same experience before when Sam the good looking jogger stopped by you while walking your dog to say hi and you were standing there like an idiot with a bag of dog poop. After an outing like that you are finally fed up enough to fix the problem. So you go on line and see there are very few solutions out there for this kind of thing until you discover the Dicky Bag.
The Dicky bag is a carrying case that holds the bag of dog poop until you find a trash can and it also stores the unused bags in a pouch inside for next time. Let's face it dog poop stinks so putting it in a little garbage bag isn't going to make it go away. Especially if you can't find a trash can and you are stuck holding it for 20 minutes. The Dicky Bag is a solution to that problem exactly. It is a odor prevention device used to store the plastic bags containing your dog's poop until you are lucky enough to find a trash can. The Dicky Bag comes in 5 different designs and colors. Once you select what you want it to look like you decide how big or small you need it to be. It comes in different sizes and on the website where you can find a size guide to help you figure out which one you need. It eliminates the need to carry anything because it clips onto your dogs leash or your belt buckle to leave you with both hands free. It is washable and there is even a removable fragrance disk that helps mask the smell. It is fairly priced for something you can use for a lifetime and if it doesn't last it is backed by it's lifetime manufacturers warranty. You and your dog will give the Dicky bag 4 paws up.

Thanks to Melissa from Sparky's getting funky

Testimonials

I have had my Dicky bag a while now and I have not had a single split poo bag since. I store a ball in it when we set off; the dog carries the ball home and by then the bag is full of poo.

I have the extra large bag 2 collies and a heinz 57 it is easily big enough. Most impressivly, I forgot to empty it last monday and 7 days later the smell had STILL not escaped from the bag!

I am so impressed with the bag that I have stopped people on walks who are struggling with poo bags to tell them about it.

You must remember to grip the air freshener when you empty it though or it ends up in the bin with the poo.
